Someday the mountain might git 'em...

Cooter will live on, but the actor who played Cooter in the television program has passed on, gone to pull Rosco out of a ditch.

Bokolis always set aside some space for him, as the man behind the curtain, at least, was known as Cooter in another time and universe.  He was a good ol' boy who didn't think too highly of himself, but could handle his business against anyone.

Ben Jones may never have gotten into Daisy's dukes, but he was a mensch who put himself and his convictions to good use.

After serving two terms in Congress and being redistricted out, Jones was defeated by Newt Gingrich, who, not aided enough by the fact that he was facing a Democrat in Georgia, cheated his ass off in the process and was let off (by his congressional peers) with a slap on the wrist.  He defeated a career con man to enter Congress and exited by losing to a career con man.  So, while it may be sheer coincidence, it can be said that running Cooter out of Congress was about when America set on its course towards the shitter.

Suave, homes.  Breaker one, breaker one, I might be crazy but I ain't dumb...
